Bluetooth device won't pair with your computer

Make sure Bluetooth is on on both your device and computer, your device is in pairing mode, and you're within 30 feet of each other. If pairing still fails, forget your device and try pairing again from scratch.

Bluetooth pairing fails because Bluetooth is off, your device isn't in pairing mode, you're out of range, or there's old pairing data getting in the way. A fresh pairing with both devices nearby fixes it.

  • Have your Bluetooth device charged and nearby — within arm's reach of your computer
  • Know how to enter pairing mode on your device — check the manual if you're not sure where the pairing button is
  • Make sure no other computers are currently paired with your device, as some devices only pair with one at a time
