Docking station not detecting your monitors
Restart your computer with the dock already connected. This resets the display drivers and the monitors come back. If that doesn't work, check that the dock cable is plugged in firmly and try different USB ports.
Docking stations connect monitors through USB or Thunderbolt cables that carry both power and display signals. When the dock stops detecting monitors, the connection between the dock and your laptop is loose or the drivers are confused. A restart fixes most cases.
- ✓Make sure your dock is plugged into power — it won't detect monitors without power
- ✓Have all monitor cables plugged into the dock itself, not into your laptop directly
- ✓Keep your laptop close to the dock while troubleshooting — about arm's distance away
