Keyboard backlight not turning on or staying off
Keyboards control backlight with a Fn key plus a light bulb or brightness icon. Press it several times to cycle through brightness levels. If that doesn't work, charge the keyboard if it's wireless, or restart your computer.
Keyboard backlight is controlled by a combination of physical keys on the keyboard and software drivers on your computer. When it stops working, it's because the keyboard is out of battery, the backlight is turned all the way down, or the software driver has crashed. Pressing the backlight control key or restarting fixes most cases.
- ✓Check that your keyboard has a full charge if it's wireless
- ✓Locate the backlight control key on your keyboard — it has a light bulb icon or brightness arrows
- ✓Make sure your computer's display is on and ready to test
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
