Monitor keeps flickering on and off
A loose cable is causing the flickering. Tighten the cable at both the back of your monitor and back of your computer until they click firmly into place.
Your monitor flickers when the signal from your computer gets interrupted. Most commonly because the cable connecting them isn't plugged in firmly. If the cable is loose, the monitor loses the signal and turns off, then reconnects and turns back on. If tightening the cable doesn't work, the cable itself is probably damaged or the port is failing.
- ✓Have access to the back of your monitor and computer so you can check the cables
- ✓Note whether the flickering happens when you move or touch the cables
- ✓If possible, have a spare video cable available (HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI)

Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Only tightening the cable at the monitor end and missing the loose connection at the computer. Both ends need to be tight.
- Assuming it's the monitor when the cable is actually damaged. Try a new cable before replacing the monitor.
- Not checking if the power cable to the monitor is loose. It can cause flickering too.
