Pop-ups demanding payment for security software

Do not pay anything and do not call any number in the pop-up. These are scams. Some are fake web pop-ups in your browser. Others are adware installed on your computer. Both are fixable.

Payment demand pop-ups are either browser-based scams or adware installed on your computer. Browser pop-ups stop when you close the tab and remove notification permission. Adware pop-ups mean software on your computer is generating fake alerts. Removing the adware stops them permanently. Either way, the number to call is fake and paying makes it worse.
