USB device not recognized error when plugging in

Try plugging your device into a different USB port — especially back ports on desktops — restart your computer, and download drivers from the manufacturer. If it still doesn't work, your port or device is damaged.

USB devices stop being recognized due to faulty ports, missing drivers, bad cables, or old device firmware. Switching ports, restarting, and updating drivers solves it in minutes.
