External numpad not recognized or keys not working

Unplug the numpad and plug it directly into your computer (not a USB hub). Press NumLock to turn it on. If that doesn't work, restart your computer. This fixes it for most users.

Number pad problems come from using a USB hub, NumLock being off, not enough USB power, or a missing driver. Plugging it directly into your computer and toggling NumLock fixes most issues.
