Email works on your phone but not on your computer

Your email account is working — your phone proves it. The problem is just the desktop app. It has old settings or a broken connection. Update the app and remove and re-add your account to fix it.

  • Go to mail.google.com or outlook.com in your computer's web browser and log in — this tests whether your account works
  • Look at your email app for any error message, red warning icon, or Disconnected status
  • Check whether app updates are available in Help or About
