Replies work but new emails won't send

When replies work but new emails fail, your email app is using different outgoing settings for new messages than for replies. The From address, outgoing server, or authentication settings are configured differently.

Your email app can send replies, which means the account itself works. New messages use a different outgoing path that's misconfigured or blocked. We'll find which setting is different and fix it.

  • Check your Outbox or Drafts folder for any stuck messages — a failed send sits there and can block other sends
  • Try sending from your email provider's website at mail.google.com or outlook.com in a browser
