Your account has been hacked — here's what to do

Change your password right now to lock the attacker out immediately. Use a completely new password you haven't used anywhere else. Then turn on two-factor authentication to stop them getting back in.

If your account has been hacked, someone else has your password and is using your account. The priority is to change your password immediately to lock them out, then turn on two-factor authentication so they can't get back in. After that, check for any damage — unauthorised purchases, changed settings, or messages sent from your account.
