Refund approved but money hasn't shown up yet

Refunds take 3–5 business days to appear after the company processes them. If it's been less than 5 business days, the money is still on the way.

When a company refunds you, they send the money back to the card or account you originally paid with. But the money doesn't arrive instantly — your bank takes time to receive and process it. This takes 3–5 business days, and weekends and holidays make it longer. If it's been more than 2 weeks, something went wrong and the company needs to re-send the refund.

Risk: Medium ⏱ 5–10 minutes to check, then wait 3–5 business days Beginner
⚡ Before you start
  • Find the refund confirmation email from the company — you'll need the date it was approved
  • Have your bank or credit card statement open so you can check for the refund
  • Know which card or payment method you used for the original purchase — the refund goes back to that one
